Hi all had problems with internet thank you for lighting kelly's candles hope to be logging in more
frequently soon
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sorry haven't neen too good lately. have received distressing news that Kelly's killer is to be
moved to an open prison and allowed out at weekends for family visits. this is an insult!!!! My
beautiful daughter will never walk this earth again because of him. One year into his sentence and
he gets rewarded meanwhile I and my family live with our life sentence. How do they (the
authorities) think this is ok. I could bump into him in Harrogate for Gods sake. If it was near the
end of his sentence I could maybe not feel so upset but words fail me..............

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VISIT THIS SITE

YOUR WORDS ARE A GREAT COMFORT
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DID YOU KNOW THAT DRUNKEN AND DANGEROUS DRIVERS SERVE THEIR DRIVING BAN DURING THEIR SENTENCE AND
NOT WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED. THIS IS NOT RIGHT!! PLEASE HELP THE CAMPAIGN SET UP BY JAN WOODWARD AND
SIGN THE PETITION TO CHANGE THE LAW. ITS ON THE WEB WWW.KELLYCAMPAIGN AND DETAILS CAN BE FOUND ON
KELLY WOODWARD GTS SITE. WHY SHOULD KILLERS (THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE) BE ABLE TO SERVE THEIR BAN
WHILST THEY ARE LOCKED UP ANYWAY. PLEASE HELP TO CHANGE THIS. THANK YOU...........

Kelly we miss you every second every minute every day and will always love you.

To misquote "Auden"
She was our north our south our east and west
Our working week, our Sunday rest
The stars are not wanted now - put out every one
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun.......

But when we look to the stars and the moon we think of Kelly shining brightly and vividly and
smiling with that god given beaming smile.

Nothing lasts forever apart from love.
We send our love to all our GTs friends

*** ***** KELLY VICTORIA BENNETT***************

Kelly was killed in a car crash in March 2007. We miss her every day. she was 17 years old and would
have been 18 in November 2007. We were planning her 18th party.
Kelly lived in Harrogate and loved all types of music.
She was just magic so vibrant and full of fun and mischief. She left Mum and Dad, her brother Ryan
and her half brother and sister Rachel and Tom. Rachel gave birth to our grandson in August 2007
Kelly is now an auntie something she was looking forward to so much. She was planning to buy baby
clothes from Next where she was working at the time of her death.
We miss Kelly every minute, every hour of every day. To lose your child so tragically when they were
an innocent passenger is hard to bear. the driver has since been convicted of death by dangerous
driving and sentenced to 8 years in prison but it does not bring Kelly back. I appeal to all drivers
but particularly young males to respect the laws of the road otherwise there can be terrible
consequences .
We will love Kelly forever she was so special so funny she had a natural empathy with younger
children or those that needed help and had done volunteer work for Barnardos locally. She was hoping
to work in this sort of area and was planning to resume her education in September 07.
Kelly had loads of friends and enjoyed spending time with them I am grateful they have kept in touch
as they move on with their own lives. She had a lovely boyfriend Al they were together for 18
months but sadly they had parted 3 weeks before her death. She loved him very much but at 17 needed
timeout from a serious relationship. I thank Al for making her happy.
Kelly loved the TV series "friends" and could probably recite the whole dialogue from 10 seasons
backwards. She loved life and loved living she did not drive herself but was planning to take
lessons. she wanted an old mini and her Dad was going to spray it Pink!!
I could go on for ever about my lovely daughter's life. Here are just a few bits and pieces.:
Cup of tea 1 sugar milk in HER cup.
Winnie the Pooh and friends especially tigger and piglet.
She was vegetarian apart from nibbling crispy bacon and Heinz beef broth soup.
"Fluff" her security blanket that she used nightly until she was a teenager. a piece of fluff was
buried with her.
shoes and Boots!!
Liked to challenge silly rules always asking Why?
Opposed to Tesco being built in Harrogate e mailed them with her forthright views (no reply from
them as yet)
Adored her pets Sam the labrador (1991 - 2005) Purdy the alsation cross 2005 (still here) misses
Kelly and looks for her all the time. It breaks my heart to see Purdy so bewildered.
Was a member of a gym. Played football for 5 years for local girls team and won the N yorkshire
youth games in 2001. Played tennis fave players Agassi and Serena Williams.
Supported Leeds Utd would have been horrified by their relegation but delighted by their recent
form. Fave players John Newsome (from 1992) and Gary Kelly. Once fell asleep watching them in the
family stand when she was 8 (it was a boring match!) Liked football in general also kept an eye out
for Liverpool's fortunes.
Beauty - great with hair and make up and beauty treatments used to give Me pedicures and pluck her
Nanas eyebrows liked to look her best but was not vain. Had lovely skin never spotty - put it down
to always cleanse tone and moisturise used to tell her friend Steph off for not taking her make up
off before bedtime. She did not realise how beautiful she looked herself.

I wish she was still here I would love to be able to hold her ,hug her ,kiss her speak to her
again. I cherish her memory but will never stop loving her or missing her as will her whole family.
she was like a vivid flame and now that has gone out we are left with broken hearts. I know other
parents on GTS know how I feel and my heart goes out to all of you.

We can never forgive the driver who took her life. He drove so dangerously and recklessly the only
justice should be that he should not be here and Kelly should be but that is not going to happen.
She paid the price for his stupidity and lost her life.
We will never forget our beautiful Kelly the main photograph shows Kelly (with the darker hair)
being hugged by one of her friends Nat as they were at a party at Nat's house.

We miss you so much Kelly-Welly and are heartbroken we love you always. Mum Dad Ryan Rachael Tom
and all your family xxxxxxxx

3 APPEAL COURT JUDGES HAVE CUT THE SENTENCE GIVEN OUT TO FIVE YEARS IN PRISON AND REDUCED THE
DRIVING BAN TO 5 YEARS. LUKE GRIMES THE DRIVER WHO KILLED KELLY IS THE ONLY WINNER HERE HE WILL BE
OUT PROBABLY IN 2 YEARS AND WILL GET ON WITH HIS LIFE . WE ARE UTTERLY DISMAYED THAT THE COURT OF
APPEAL HAVE SEEN FIT TO DO THIS STATING THE SENTENCE WAS \"MANIFESTLY EXCESSIVE\". THE ONLY THING
MANIFESTLY EXCESSIVE THAT FATAL DAY WAS HIS DRIVING!!! WORDS FAIL ME.......................... KELLY
HAS NO RIGHT OF APPEAL SHE DID NOT CHOOSE TO NOT BE HERE.................... If Luke Grimes is so
sorry then why did he appeal the sentence as well as the driving ban I hope he never comes back to
Harrogate. He has taken Kelly's life and and left us without a daughter, sister, grandaughter niece
cousin auntie and friend.
